July 30: Global energy markets traded mixed on Tuesday, with crude oil and Brent crude extending their recent decline, while natural gas posted modest gains. Despite the daily weakness, oil prices continue to remain significantly higher on a year-to-date (YTD) basis.
According to the latest market data, Crude Oil fell 1.10% to $83.53 per barrel, while Brent Crude declined 1.48% to $89.39 per barrel. On a weekly basis, crude oil is down 9.46% and Brent has dropped 11.29%, reflecting profit booking after a strong rally over the past few months.
Natural Gas bucked the trend, rising 0.34% to $2.73/MMBtu, although it remains down 15.17% over the past month and nearly 26% on a YTD basis.
Among refined fuel products, Gasoline slipped 1.17% to $3.36 per gallon, while Heating Oil eased 0.83% to $4.33 per gallon. However, both commodities continue to post robust annual gains, with heating oil up more than 80% YoY.
European gas prices remained resilient, with EU Gas inching up 0.01%, while UK Gas surged 4.68%, indicating continued volatility in regional energy markets.
