Three Accused Arrested in Crackdown on Counterfeit Automobile Components
New Delhi:
The ARSC unit of the Delhi Crime Branch has busted a major counterfeit auto parts racket operating in Karol Bagh, leading to the seizure of thousands of fake UNO MINDA switches being allegedly sold as genuine branded products.
According to officials:
- 10,650 counterfeit UNO MINDA switches were recovered during the operation,
- while raids were conducted at three wholesale shops in Karol Bagh.
Police said the racket involved:
- cheap foreign-made duplicate switches,
- illegally engraved with reputed brand trademarks,
- and marketed as original automobile components.
Organised Syndicate Targeting Auto Parts Market
Investigators stated that the accused were allegedly running a well-organised counterfeit supply network dealing in fake automobile electrical components.
The illegal trade posed concerns related to:
- consumer fraud,
- intellectual property violations,
- and vehicle safety risks associated with substandard auto parts.
Three Arrested in Crime Branch Operation
The Crime Branch confirmed that:
- three accused linked to the racket have been arrested.
The operation was carried out by a team led by Inspector Robin Tyagi under the guidance of ACP Sanjay Nagpal and the overall supervision of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

Authorities said the crackdown forms part of broader enforcement efforts against:
- counterfeit automotive products,
- fake branded components,
- and illegal trademark misuse in major wholesale markets.
