Global energy markets traded mixed, with crude oil and Brent crude edging lower after recent gains, while European natural gas and methanol continued to outperform amid sustained supply concerns.
Crude Oil slipped 0.34% to $82.20 per barrel, while Brent Crude declined 0.75% to $88.55 per barrel. Despite the day's losses, both benchmarks remain firmly higher, gaining more than 43% year-to-date and around 26–29% over the past year.
Natural Gas fell 0.45% to $2.85 per MMBtu, extending its monthly decline to 12.47% and remaining down 22.76% for the year. In contrast, EU Gas traded lower by 1.88% during the session but retained strong momentum, surging 104.74% year-to-date and 74.13% year-on-year. UK Gas rose 1.95%, with gains of 41.33% over the month and 91.65% so far this year.
Among refined products, Gasoline eased 0.19% and Heating Oil declined 0.44%, although both continued to post robust annual gains. Gasoline has climbed 97.69% year-to-date, while Heating Oil is up 93.34% during the same period.
Elsewhere, Coal advanced 0.31%, Naphtha gained 1.08%, and Ethanol added 0.65%. Methanol emerged as the session's top performer, rallying 6.57% in a single day and extending its weekly gain to 10.78%. Meanwhile, Propane slipped 0.65%, Uranium edged down 0.18%, and Coking Coal remained largely unchanged.
