Galgotias University has issued an official clarification and apology following confusion surrounding its recent AI Summit, after an unauthorised individual reportedly made incorrect statements to the media.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the university expressed “profound regret” over the incident, stating that the comments delivered on camera by a woman — who was not authorised to speak on behalf of the institution — did not reflect the university’s official position.
“One of our representatives, manning the pavilion, was ill-informed. She was not aware of the technical origins of the product and, in her enthusiasm to present, gave factually incorrect information even though she was not authorised to speak to the press,” the statement said.
The university emphasised that it remains firmly committed to academic integrity, transparency, and responsible representation of its work. It also confirmed that, respecting the concerns of the event organisers, it has vacated the premises linked to the incident.
The clarification comes amid heightened attention on institutional accountability and accuracy in public communication, particularly at high-profile technology and academic events.
