Jaipur: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has expanded its National Road Safety Awareness Programme to Jaipur, reaching over 2,000 students at Rawat PG Girls College through a three-day engagement focused on responsible road behaviour.
The initiative is part of Honda’s broader commitment to fostering a collision-free road environment by educating young citizens on traffic discipline and safe mobility practices.
Building Safer Habits Among Youth
The programme focused on sensitising students across roles—as pedestrians, two-wheeler riders, and future drivers—emphasising the importance of road safety in everyday life.
Since its national rollout nine months ago, Honda’s campaign has reached over 2.1 lakh students across 90 cities, highlighting the scale and urgency of road safety education in India.
Blending Science, Simulation, and Practice
Honda’s training model combines theoretical learning with hands-on experience and interactive tools:
- Scientific Learning Modules: Classroom sessions covering traffic rules, road signs, and safe riding practices
- Virtual Riding Simulators: Enhancing risk prediction skills in a controlled environment before real-world exposure
- Skill Development for Riders: Activities like slow riding and narrow plank tests to improve balance and control
- Women-Focused Training: ‘Dream Riding’ programme enabling female students to learn two-wheeler riding independently within hours
- Gamified Learning: Quizzes and interactive activities to reinforce safety concepts
Leadership Perspective
Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand & Communication at HMSI, said the initiative reflects Honda’s long-standing commitment to safety as a core brand value.
He noted that engaging young individuals is critical, as they can act as road safety ambassadors, spreading awareness within their families and communities.
