New Delhi, August 21, 2026: The 9th International Health & Wellness Expo (IHWE) 2026, organised by Namo Gange Trust, opened on Friday at Hall No. 12, Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, bringing together experts and stakeholders from AYUSH, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, preventive healthcare, integrated medicine and wellness.
The three-day international expo, being held from August 21 to 23, is being organised alongside the 18th Arogya Sangoshthi. The inaugural day witnessed deliberations on evidence-based traditional medicine, scientific research, preventive healthcare, professional standards and greater integration of traditional systems with contemporary healthcare.
The inaugural session was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Kumar Dadhich, Chief Executive Officer, National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India; Dr. Tarkeshwar Jain, Chairperson, National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH); and Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), among other experts and dignitaries. The guests and speakers were welcomed by Vijay Sharma, Chairman, Namo Gange Trust, and other members of the organisation with mementoes.
“The future belongs to AYUSH”
Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Kumar Dadhich said, “The future belongs to AYUSH,” and highlighted the sector’s growth potential. He said that while several other sectors in the country are growing at around 7–8 per cent, the AYUSH sector is witnessing growth of around 17–18 per cent. He also highlighted the potential of medicinal plants and natural health resources and stressed the need for their effective utilisation.
The discussions at the inaugural day focused on strengthening traditional systems of medicine through scientific research, evidence-based practice, quality education, professional standards and closer integration with modern healthcare.
Prof. Mahesh Vyas, Dean (Ph.D.), All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), emphasised the need to strengthen research and education in Ayurveda. Prof. (Dr.) Atul Varshney, Member, Board of Ayurveda, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), spoke on Ayurveda education, clinical practice and its evolving role in contemporary healthcare.
The Homoeopathy session featured Dr. Tarkeshwar Jain, Chairperson, National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), and Dr. Harcharan Jeet Kaur, President, Board of Ethics and Registration for Homoeopathy (BERH), NCH. The discussions focused on education, professional standards, ethics and quality healthcare delivery in Homoeopathy.
Dr. Suniti Chugh, Research Officer (Homoeopathy), Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, and Prof. (Dr.) Manu Bhai Gaur, Director-Principal, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan (CBPACS), Government of NCT of Delhi, were among the other experts associated with the programme.
Moksh Sewa launched
A key highlight of the inaugural day was the launch of Moksh Sewa by Mrs. Srujena and Mr. Vishwa.
The initiative seeks to promote care, dignity, service and social responsibility as part of a broader approach to holistic wellbeing. The launch was witnessed by experts, delegates and visitors attending the expo.
100+ exhibitors and 150+ speakers
The organisers said IHWE 2026 features more than 100 national and international exhibitors, over 10,000 expected visitors, more than 1,000 buyers and over 150 expert speakers.
The exhibition is showcasing products, technologies and services across Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, medical technology, nutraceuticals, organic and herbal products, medical devices, digital health, diagnostics, healthcare startups and wellness.
The second and third days will feature the Healthcare Innovation Summit, Global Wellness Leadership Forum and Wellness & AYUSH Leadership Forum, with sessions on digital health, artificial intelligence in healthcare, preventive medicine, integrated healthcare, nutrition, wellness tourism and AYUSH.
