Dainik Bhaskar reported, Newly disclosed asset statements of IPS officers have revealed striking variations in property valuations across Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Rajasthan. The data, submitted to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under central government directives, shows some officers reporting sharp declines in asset values while others recorded sudden increases within a short span.
Mandatory Asset Disclosure to DoPT
The central government had directed IAS and IPS officers to submit complete details of their immovable assets to the DoPT by January 31. Based on these filings, significant year-on-year fluctuations in property valuations have emerged among several officers.
Major Drop in DIG Sanjeev Tyagi’s Property Value
Basti Range DIG Sanjeev Tyagi remains among the wealthiest IPS officers, holding five properties worth around ₹30 crore in total. However, one of his key assets in Ghaziabad’s Sadar area—purchased in 2010—saw its declared value fall sharply from ₹10 crore in 2025 to ₹3.20 crore in 2026. Another property in Modinagar, bought in 2015 for ₹50 lakh, is now valued at just ₹26 lakh, reflecting a decline rather than appreciation over the years.
Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar Acquires New ₹4 Crore House
Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar, who had declared no property in 2025, reported a newly purchased house in Rajasthan in his 2026 disclosure. Bought on January 27 for ₹3.40 crore, the property is currently valued at around ₹4 crore. The house is jointly owned with his siblings, generates an annual rental income of about ₹4.80 lakh, and is mortgaged.
Land Value Rises 1.5x in Six Months
Muzaffarnagar SP Sanjeev Suman also declared a property for the first time after purchasing land in Lucknow in 2025. The land, bought for ₹20 lakh, is now valued at ₹30 lakh—an increase of nearly 50% within six months.
SP Vinod Kumar’s Assets Decline by ₹1.72 Crore
Kannauj SP Vinod Kumar reported a reduction in total assets. While he had declared nine properties worth ₹4.07 crore in 2025, his 2026 filing lists only five properties valued at ₹2.35 crore, marking a drop of ₹1.72 crore.
Assets of IG and ADG Rank Officers
Jhansi Range IG Akash Kulhari purchased a 240 sq. meter plot in Lucknow’s Mohanlalganj township, while also jointly owning a house in Jaipur with his brother. UP-112 IG K. Ezhilaresan now holds 14 properties, up from 13 last year.
Stability at Senior Leadership Level
At the headquarters level, senior officers including the DGP, ADG (Law & Order), DG Fire Services, DG Prisons, and ADG Railways reported no major change in their assets compared to 2025. At the zonal level, Bhanu Bhaskar’s property count fell by one, while Ramit Sharma continues to hold seven properties. Lucknow Zone ADG Praveen Kumar reported no assets in his name.
Rakesh Prakash Singh Remains Top Landholder
At the range level, Rakesh Prakash Singh continues to be among the largest landholders with 25 mostly ancestral properties, showing no change from the previous year. Overall, most senior IPS officers reported relative stability in asset holdings, despite notable fluctuations in select cases.
