Jamia Millia Islamia’s Ph.D. Scholar, Mr. Munna Khalid won Bronze Medal at the Indonesia Para-Badminton International 2025 (Level–1). The championship was held in Solo, Indonesia, from 29 October to 02 November 2025, and was organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). A dedicated scholar-athlete, Munna Khalid is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Hindi Literature at Jamia Millia Islamia. He has also completed his B.A. (Hons), M.A. (Social Work), and M.A. (Hindi) from the same university.

It is noteworthy that only the top 12 ranked players in the world are eligible to compete in Level–1 tournaments. Munna made an impressive run from the group stage to the semifinals. In the men’s doubles category, Munna Khalid and his partner Shashank Kumar defeated France’s two-time Paralympian duo in the quarterfinals, securing a well-deserved bronze medal. With this achievement, Munna has now risen to become the World No. 9 in his category.
Following his outstanding performance in this tournament, Munna Khalid has also qualified for the World Para-Badminton Championships-2026, scheduled to be held in Manama, Bahrain in February 2026.
So far, Munna has won 10 international medals for India, including 02 Gold, 02 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
