August 12, 2026: Cryptocurrency markets remained mixed on Wednesday, with major tokens showing modest intraday movements while most continued to remain under pressure on a year-to-date and year-on-year basis.
Bitcoin was trading at $63,734, up 0.29%, while Ether gained 0.10% to $1,883.33. Binance Coin declined 0.18% to $615.70.
Among major altcoins, Cardano rose 0.49% to $0.18789 and posted a 19.51% monthly gain, the strongest monthly performance among the cryptocurrencies listed. Solana gained 0.29% to $76.42, while Polygon rose 0.45%.
XRP declined 0.14% to $1.02069, while Avalanche fell 0.40% to $6.30. Polkadot gained 0.56% on the day but remained down 55.62% YTD and 81.47% YoY.
Despite the modest daily gains in Bitcoin and Ether, the broader market remained weak over longer periods. Bitcoin was down 27.16% YTD and 48.33% YoY, while Ether was down 36.53% YTD and 60.43% YoY.
