Bhopal, April 28, 2026: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved a wide-ranging development package exceeding ₹26,800 crore. The decisions span infrastructure, irrigation, education, healthcare, and social welfare. Here are the 10 key decisions:
1. ₹26,311 Crore for Roads & Infrastructure
Approval granted for Public Works Department projects over 2026–2031, covering road construction, upgradation, maintenance, government buildings, and land acquisition compensation.
2. ₹155.82 Crore Lakhundar Micro Irrigation Project
High-pressure irrigation project approved for Shajapur and Ujjain districts, covering 9,200 hectares across 24 villages using water from the Lakhundar river reservoir.
3. Major Boost to OBC Scholarships
Monthly scholarship increased from ₹1,550 to ₹10,000 under the hostel scheme; 100 new students to benefit annually (UG + PG).
4. Expansion of Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal
Revised approval of ₹79.16 crore for PG seat expansion, including radiotherapy OPD, linear accelerator bunker, bone marrow transplant unit, and cath lab.
5. Rewa Super Speciality Hospital Expansion
₹174.80 crore approved for expansion of Shyam Shah Medical College’s super speciality hospital, enhancing tertiary care capacity.
6. Electrification of 38,901 Anganwadi Centres
₹80.41 crore sanctioned to provide electricity in anganwadi buildings, improving delivery of childcare, nutrition, and early education services.
7. ₹6,925 Crore for Central Road Infrastructure Fund Projects
Funding approved for road infrastructure projects under central schemes to strengthen connectivity.
8. ₹6,500 Crore for Land Acquisition Compensation
Provision made for compensation linked to infrastructure and development projects.
9. ₹5,000 Crore for District Road Upgradation
Approval for renewal and strengthening of major district roads and other rural road networks.
10. ₹1,680 Crore for Government Housing Maintenance
Funds allocated for maintenance and repair of government residential and non-residential buildings.
The Cabinet decisions reflect a combined push toward long-term infrastructure creation, improved irrigation coverage, expanded healthcare capacity, and enhanced educational support. Implementation will roll out in phases between 2026 and 2031, with a focus on accelerating development and improving service delivery across the state.
