New Delhi, July 28: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has dismissed as fake a viral social media claim alleging that students were fired upon in Delhi during the late-night hours. The misleading claim is being circulated using an image resembling an ABP News YouTube thumbnail.
According to PIB Fact Check, no such incident occurred in Delhi at midnight, and the viral screenshot is false. The agency urged the public to rely only on verified and official sources before sharing such content online.
The viral image claims that "students were shot at in Delhi after midnight" during ongoing protests. PIB clarified that the claim is entirely fabricated and warned that such misinformation can create unnecessary panic and confusion.
