PVR INOX, India's largest and most premium cinema exhibitor, is proud to announce one-of-its-kind cinematic experience this International Yoga Day with a live national telecast of "Yoga in the Light of the Gita" by Acharya Prashant, one of the country's most compelling contemporary spiritual voices.
As part of PVR INOX's Alternative Content slate, which brings audiences unique non-film experiences, from concerts and sporting events to thought leadership sessions—this initiative reimagines cinema halls as modern-day sabhas: spaces not just for stories, but for stillness, inquiry, and inner dialogue.
The flagship session will take place live in Goa at INOX OSIA, Margao on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, and will be simultaneously broadcast across 45+ cities, marking a powerful confluence of cinema, spirituality, and collective inquiry.
At the heart of the event is Acharya Prashant – a philosopher and author of 160+ books. He has authored over 10 national bestselling books, including those published by Penguin and Harper Collins. He is also a columnist with NDTV and The Sunday Guardian, and runs the world's largest Gita teaching and testing programme. Acharya Prashant is known for his piercing clarity, his unsparing honesty, and his deeply practical interpretation of Vedantic wisdom. He is not a preacher. He is not a provider of solace. He is a challenger of falsehoods and a relentless advocate for truth.
Mr. Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning & Strategy, PVR INOX Ltd said "It's rare to see thousands gather in silence for something that isn't a film or a concert, but that's the power of clarity. With this nationwide telecast, we're proud to connect seekers across India to a voice of timeless relevance. At PVR INOX, our Alternative Content slate isn't just about variety, it's about vision. Bringing a Vedanta-rooted Yoga discourse to over 45 cities reflect our belief that cinema can offer not just escape, but elevation."
In this 2.5-hour session, Acharya Prashant will draw directly from the Bhagavad Gita, returning Yoga to its roots, as a path of self-knowledge, clarity, and liberation. The session will go far beyond physical postures and techniques, focusing instead on the real work of self-inquiry, disillusionment, and spiritual truth.
Conducted in Hindi and open to all age groups, the event promises to gather seekers and thinkers across demographics—from young professionals and students to long-time meditators and philosophy enthusiasts.
Seats are limited and demand is expected to be high, especially in key cities. The screening will be hosted in specially curated auditoriums within the PVR INOX circuit, offering an immersive viewing and listening experience.
