Rajasthan Budget 2026 strengthened the state’s public healthcare ecosystem with a strong focus on patient support, neonatal care, hospital safety and affordable services for families. In a major relief for attendants of patients, the government announced high-tech shelter homes in six major medical hubs — Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota and Jodhpur. These modern rest facilities aim to ensure that families travelling from distant areas no longer struggle to find accommodation during treatment.
To improve access to affordable nutrition within hospital campuses, the state will establish ‘Atal Arogya Food Courts’ with a ₹100 crore allocation, providing low-cost, hygienic meals for patients, attendants, students and hospital staff. The government also introduced the free ‘Moksha Vahini’ service, ensuring dignified transport of road accident victims’ mortal remains from hospital mortuaries to their homes. Simultaneously, infrastructure upgrades will be carried out across Ayurveda hospitals to strengthen traditional healthcare systems.
On the clinical care front, Finance Minister Diya Kumari announced major modernization initiatives. RUHS Hospital, Jaipur will get a 200-bed Pediatric IPD and a state-of-the-art Neonatal ICU, significantly enhancing critical newborn care capacity. A dedicated Pediatric Neurology Department will also be established to treat complex neurological disorders in children. Under the RAJ-MA initiative, ₹300 crore will fund advanced medical equipment, while another ₹200 crore will install new hospital machinery statewide, taking the total equipment upgrade push to ₹500 crore.
Responding to recent fire incidents in hospitals, the government mandated statewide fire detection and safety systems, with ₹300 crore allocated in Phase-1 to strengthen hospital emergency preparedness and patient safety. Overall, the healthcare announcements signal a shift toward integrated patient-centric infrastructure, improved neonatal survival, safer hospitals and expanded support services for families across Rajasthan.
