Nifty is holding close to the 24,000 zone, but the sharper signal today is the rotation into cyclicals, with Hindalco up 2.52%, Bajaj Auto gaining 2.50%, and Tata Steel rising 1.91%.
The rally is widening beyond index heavyweights. BEL (+1.48%), NTPC (+1.62%), Coal India (+1.18%), SBILIFE (+1.12%), and Trent (+0.64%) show steady participation from defence, power, insurance, and consumption pockets.
Autos are adding momentum as Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto, and TVS Motor stay firm, while large-cap defensives like HUL, Sun Pharma, and ITC are also positive, suggesting traders are balancing momentum with quality.
The weak spots are selective: Infosys (-1.44%), Shriram Finance (-1.51%), Asian Paints (-1.20%), and Ultratech Cement (-0.87%) indicate pressure in IT, NBFCs, and some domestic cyclicals.
