New Delhi, March 19, 2026: Building on the global success of International Day of Yoga, the Government of India has launched ‘Yoga 365’, a nationwide initiative aimed at integrating yoga into everyday life.
The initiative seeks to move beyond the annual celebration on June 21 and promote year-round adoption of yoga as a lifestyle practice.
From Awareness to Daily Practice
Announcing the initiative, Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, emphasized that while awareness of traditional health systems is already high, regular practice remains limited.
According to National Sample Survey (NSS) data:
Awareness of traditional systems:
95% in rural India
96% in urban India
Regular yoga practitioners:
1.1 crore rural households
1.4 crore urban households
The ‘Yoga 365’ campaign aims to bridge this gap between awareness and action.
Launched at Yoga Mahotsav 2026
The initiative was formally unveiled during the launch of Yoga Mahotsav 2026 at Vigyan Bhavan, marking the 100-day countdown to International Yoga Day 2026.
As part of the rollout:
Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga partnered with Habuild
The collaboration will offer free daily online yoga sessions
Designed to make guided yoga accessible across geographies and fitness levels
Mission: Make Yoga a 365-Day Habit
The core idea behind Yoga 365 is simple yet ambitious:
Shift yoga from a one-day celebration to a daily routine
Encourage participation across schools, workplaces, and communities
Leverage digital platforms for wider accessibility
The campaign will operate in a mission mode, focusing on behavioral change and sustained engagement.
Government’s Health Vision
Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, highlighted that despite high awareness, daily adoption remains low, especially in urban India.
He noted that Yoga 365, combined with new yoga protocols for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), aims to:
Make yoga more practical and relevant
Support preventive healthcare
Promote holistic well-being.
