Raipur, February 3, 2026:
In a major welfare push for workers, Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan and Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Dr. Rampratap Singh on Tuesday transferred ₹18.23 crore directly into the bank accounts of 9,328 construction workers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The amount was released at the Board meeting held at Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, where beneficiaries received assistance under multiple labour welfare schemes.
Addressing the meeting, Labour Minister Dewangan said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is ensuring timely and transparent delivery of benefits related to education, health, safety equipment, sports incentives, empowerment, housing and pensions for workers and their families.
He highlighted that over ₹800 crore has been transferred to workers’ accounts in the last two years across all labour welfare boards. Of this, the Construction Workers Welfare Board alone has benefitted over 11 lakh workers with more than ₹500 crore.
Board Chairman Dr. Rampratap Singh reiterated that under Chief Minister Sai’s leadership, the government remains committed to making welfare schemes simple, transparent and directly accessible to workers.

The event underscored the Vishnu Deo Sai government’s labour-friendly approach, with large-scale DBT-driven welfare delivery strengthening financial security for workers across Chhattisgarh.
