Jaipur, March 10: Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh on Tuesday informed the Assembly that **Shri Kalyan Government Hospital, Sanwali in Sikar district will be developed with modern facilities at an estimated cost of ₹191 crore.
The hospital, which is affiliated with Shri Kalyan Government Medical College, will include several infrastructure upgrades. The government has allocated ₹103 crore for an administration wing, ₹16 crore for the construction of a critical care block, ₹7 crore for equipment for the critical care unit, ₹6.5 crore for a Cath Lab, and ₹18 crore for other hospital equipment.
The minister said the facility will be equipped with advanced ultrasound machines, ventilators, X-ray machines, surgical sets and multi-parameter monitors for every bed. C-arm machines will also be installed in the critical care block, while the Cath Lab will be fitted with modern diagnostic equipment.
Responding to supplementary questions raised by MLA Gordhan during Question Hour, the minister said that considering the rising population and demand for better healthcare services, the district hospital’s capacity will be expanded from 300 beds to 530 beds.
He added that construction of the critical care block is currently underway and is expected to be completed by May 2026, after which the hospital will be shifted to the new building.
The minister also said that under a centrally sponsored scheme, administrative and financial approvals worth about ₹18 crore have been granted for purchasing equipment, furniture and other materials for departments such as General Surgery, General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, TB and Chest, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Radiodiagnosis, Anaesthesia and Skin & VD at the medical college.
