New Delhi, September 2026: ASG Hospital Limited hosted its annual FellowshipConvocation Ceremony in New Delhi, celebrating six ophthalmologists who successfully completed their advanced subspecialty fellowship training this year. With this graduating batch, the number of ophthalmologists who have successfully completed the ASG FellowshipProgramme reached 28.
The ASG Fellowship Programme is a post-postgraduate subspecialty training programme in ophthalmology, designed for ophthalmologists seeking advancedexpertise beyond their postgraduate qualifications. The programme offers focused training in Retina, Phaco-Refractive Surgery, Phaco-Medical Retina, Phaco-Oculoplasty, and Phaco-Squint.
The six graduating fellows underwent intensive training combining hands-on clinical experience, surgical exposure, mentorship, and academic learning.The programme focuses on developing advanced clinical and surgical skills, sound clinical decision-making, and the ability to manage complex cases in specialised areas of ophthalmology.
The convocation brought together senior ophthalmologists, faculty members, fellows and distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements of the graduatingbatch and mark their transition from fellowship training to independent professional practice.
The academic programme included interactions between mentors and fellows, with discussions focusing on the fellowship journey, academics, and ethicsin ophthalmic practice. The event also recognised the achievements of the graduating fellows through the presentation of fellowship certificates and awards.
The academic programme is supported by ASG Hospital’s Academic Cell, led by Dr. Ganesh Pillay, Chief of Research & Academics and Regional COO (CentralIndia), ASG Hospital Limited; Dr. Mayank Sharma, Director – Induction & Training and Regional COO (Rajasthan), ASG Hospital Limited; and Dr. Koushik Tripathy, Secretary, Academic Cell and Medical Director, ASG Eye Hospital, Kolkata. The Academic Cell playsa key role in strengthening structured learning, academic development, and continuous professional training across ASG’s ophthalmic ecosystem.
