The Chhattisgarh Water Resources Department has approved ₹39.61 crore for two reservoir schemes in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, aimed at expanding irrigation coverage and strengthening farm productivity.
Key Highlights
Datram (Samri) Reservoir – ₹8.82 Cr: The project in Kusmi block will enable irrigation of 250 hectares in Kharif and 100 hectares in Rabi, improving water availability for agriculture.
Dhudhichuwa Reservoir – ₹30.79 Cr: The scheme in Shankargarh block has received major funding to accelerate construction and water storage capacity.
Administrative approval revised: The Water Resources Department, Mahanadi Bhawan, has issued revised administrative sanction to the Chief Engineer, Hasdeo Basin, Ambikapur for execution of both projects.
Irrigation impact: Combined projects are expected to enhance irrigation over 350 hectares, supporting crop stability and rural economy in the region.
