The 5th National Handloom Day was observed across India at NIFT campuses and Weavers’ Service Centres with exhibitions, workshops, melas, and panel discussions showcasing handloom products.
The main event in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, included the release of the 4th All India Handloom Census report, distribution of scheme certificates, and awareness workshops for weavers and their families. Discussions and digital engagement sessions were also conducted to promote the handloom sector.
Events in Delhi were cancelled as a mark of respect following the demise of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The celebration aimed to promote India’s handloom heritage, support weavers, and encourage awareness of government schemes and educational opportunities.
