Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will chair the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narcotics Coordination Centre (NCORD) in New Delhi on June 26, aimed at strengthening the government's efforts towards a drug-free India.
During the meeting, Shah will release the Vision Document on Drug Control (2026–2029), which outlines a comprehensive strategy focused on reducing drug demand and supply, expanding rehabilitation services, and tackling emerging challenges such as synthetic drugs and darknet-enabled trafficking.
The Home Minister will also launch an Online Drugs Disposal Fortnight Campaign, under which approximately 209,500 kg of narcotic substances worth around ₹6,000 crore are expected to be destroyed by central and state enforcement agencies across the country.
In addition, Shah will release the NCB Annual Report 2025 and inaugurate new zonal offices of the Narcotics Control Bureau in Jammu and Guwahati.
The high-level meeting, attended by representatives from central ministries, state governments, and law enforcement agencies, will review national efforts to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse while charting the roadmap for coordinated action over the next three years.
