March 27, 2026: Christie’s Golf won a nerve-tingling roller-coaster contest to beat Baale Golf in the seventh and final game of the day after the two teams were tied with three wins apiece on day-two of the 5th Edition of the ‘Delhi Golf Club Members League powered by Radico’. The League, being played at the historic par-72 Delhi Golf Club course, features 16 days of hard-fought golf and will conclude in a Grand Finale on April 18, 2026.
Baale Golf took on Christie’s Golf in the third clash of the day. Christie’s Golf struck gold early with a win in the opening game But Baale Golf registered a win in the very next game. Christie’s Golf replied with wins in the next two games. Staging a magnificent fightback, Baale Golf won the fifth and sixth games to take the contest into a decider. Chriostie’s had the final laugh winning the seventh and conclusive game and triumphed with 8 points as against their opponent’s 6 points.
The contest between Legends 9 and The Pioneers witnessed the latter draw first blood, winning the opening game. After a tied second game, The Pioneers went two-up with a win in the third game. Legends 9 pulled back with a win in the fourth but lost the fifth game right after. The sixth game was tied and Legends 9 came back to register a win in the seventh and final game but couldn’t prevent The Pioneers from triumphing with 8 points as against their own tally of 6 points.
In the match between Shiva Mahindra and The A-Team, Shiva Mahindra won the first game but the A-Team nullified that advantage with a win in the second. The third game was tied but Shiva Mahindra came back with a bang to win the fourth and fifth games. Just when it looked like the writing was on the wall, The A-Team registered back-to-back wins in the sixth and seventh games. The two teams finished with 6 points apiece.
The match between Bharat Strikers and Sudhir Power, the final clash of the day, witnessed a nearly one-sided affair with Sudhir Power winning five of the seven games and Bharat Strikers managing a victory in only the second game. The fifth game ended in a tie.
The League is being played on a four-ball better ball Matchplay Format and over two stages – a Round Robin stage followed by a Knock-out stage. During each playoff match between two teams in the Round Robin stage, each team will field 7 pairs (14 players). One pair from each team will play against a pair from the other team in the above-mentioned format, with all the players playing off 90% of their original handicaps. The teams will get points for their wins. The 24 teams have been divided into 4 groups. After the Round Robin stage, during which the teams from one group will compete against each other. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Knock-out stage starting with the Quarter-finals. In the Knock-out Stage the matches between two teams will be contested by seven pairs (14 players). The Finals, as mentioned earlier, will be played on 18th April, 2026.
