Raipur, March 26, 2026: In a major welfare push, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will transfer ₹27.15 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 79,340 construction workers and their families during a district-level labour conference in Jashpur on March 28.
The event, scheduled at Vashistha Community Hall at 1 PM, will see the disbursal of funds under 12 labour welfare schemes operated by the state’s Labour Department. The financial assistance will be credited through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency and timely delivery.
Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan will preside over the programme, while Finance Minister OP Choudhary, Lok Sabha MP Radheshyam Rathiya, and Welfare Board Chairman Dr Ram Pratap Singh will attend as distinguished guests.
According to officials, the schemes cover a wide spectrum of support—from education and financial aid to social security and livelihood assistance. The largest share, over ₹14.53 crore, will be distributed under the Mukhyamantri Naunihal Scholarship Scheme, benefiting more than 71,000 children of workers.
Other key initiatives include financial support for women under the Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana, maternity benefits through the Mini Mata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, and assistance for tools, safety equipment, housing, and pension schemes.
Additionally, beneficiaries under niche schemes such as e-rickshaw assistance and disability support will also receive aid, reflecting the state government’s focus on inclusive and targeted welfare delivery.
Officials stated that the initiative aims to strengthen financial security for unorganised workers and improve access to social protection schemes, particularly in remote and tribal districts like Jashpur.
