New Delhi, September 12, 2026: The cryptocurrency market showed mixed movement on Saturday, September 12, with Bitcoin posting a marginal gain while several major altcoins advanced in early trading. At around 9:28 AM IST, Bitcoin was trading at $77,262, up 0.09%, while Ether slipped 0.07% to $2,513.16, according to the latest market snapshot.
Bitcoin's recent performance remained uneven. The world's largest cryptocurrency was down 3.16% over the past week, but it remained 21.85% higher over the past month. Bitcoin was still down 11.70% year-to-date and 33.38% year-on-year, with its market capitalisation at approximately $1.55 trillion.
Ether showed comparatively stronger weekly momentum, gaining 1.36% over seven days and 33.43% over one month. However, it remained down 15.29% year-to-date and 46.18% year-on-year, with a market capitalisation of around $397.95 billion.
XRP, Polkadot and Uniswap Show Strong Monthly Gains
The broader altcoin market remained mixed on September 12. Cardano gained 1.34%, Litecoin rose 1.35%, Uniswap jumped 2.57%, and Algorand advanced 2.12%.
Polkadot gained 0.60% on the day and 14.33% over the week, while its one-month performance stood at 35.56%. XRP rose 0.59%, taking its monthly gain to 35.22%.
The strongest monthly performer in the snapshot was Uniswap, which was up 77.22% over one month, despite falling 12.66% during the week. Solana also remained significantly higher over the monthly period, gaining 33.33%, while Polygon advanced 31.30%.
However, longer-term performance continues to highlight the volatility of the crypto market. Cardano was down 77.53% year-on-year, Polkadot 76.75%, Avalanche 75.21% and Polygon 65.73%.
