A delegation from the Department of Education (DepEd), Benguet, Philippines visited the Child Guidance Centre (CGC) under the aegis of the Dr. Zakir Husain Memorial Welfare Society. The purpose of the visit was to facilitate professional exchange, learn about child development services, and explore collaborative opportunities in the field of special education and inclusive practices.

The General Secretary of the Society, Prof. Mohammad Ghazi Shahnawaz, and the Project Director, Mr. Naseem Ahmad, warmly welcomed all guests and expressed their heartfelt appreciation for their valuable presence.
Dr. Mohd. Faijullah Khan, Associate Professor (Department of Teacher Training & Non-Formal Education) and an expert in Learning Disabilities (Special Education), and Mr. Shitab Elahi, Director, Proactive Foundation, were also present on this occasion.
During their visit, the delegation interacted with the CGC team and observed various programmes, including psychological assessments, therapy sessions, remedial education, and community outreach initiatives. They also gained insights into the centre’s operational framework, child guidance methodologies, and the multidisciplinary approach used to support children with diverse developmental needs.
The Dr. Zakir Husain Memorial Welfare Society expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit and emphasized the importance of continued international collaboration for strengthening child welfare systems and promoting inclusive education.
The Child Guidance Centre continues to function under the aegis and leadership of Vice Chancellor, JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, and Registrar, JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, whose vision and support have been instrumental in carrying forward this mission.
The visit marks a meaningful step toward fostering cross-cultural learning and enhancing shared knowledge to improve the well-being and developmental outcomes of children.
