In Bihar, the flood situation is improving, with most rivers now flowing below the danger mark. Train services on the Darbhanga–Samastipur section have been restored following the improvement in flood conditions.
Train services on this section were disrupted for five days due to rising water levels of the Bagmati River, which had touched the rail bridge between Thalwara and Hayaghat stations. Flood-affected people who were taking shelter have now returned to their homes.
The state government has ordered an assessment of the damage caused by the devastating floods. Over 88 lakh people across 13 districts were affected.
