Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey 2025–26 in Parliament today, setting the tone for the upcoming Union Budget.
Prepared by the Department of Economic Affairs under the guidance of the Chief Economic Advisor, the Economic Survey offers a comprehensive assessment of India’s current macroeconomic conditions, key sectoral trends, and the outlook for growth in the coming year.
The Survey traditionally serves as a roadmap for the government’s fiscal strategy and policy priorities ahead of the Budget.
The Union Budget 2026–27 is scheduled to be presented on Sunday. The Budget Session of Parliament will be held in two phases—
First phase: Until February 13
Second phase: March 9 to April 2
In total, Parliament will sit for 30 sessions during the Budget Session.
