Rajasthan Governor Shri Hari Babu Bagde emphasized that the benefits of central and state government schemes should be delivered to the people in a timely and transparent manner. Speaking during a review meeting at the Jaipur District Collectorate on Friday, he said efforts should be made to identify the truly needy and ensure full transparency in implementing welfare schemes.
He reviewed various initiatives, stating that programs such as the "Rasta Khol Abhiyan" (road access initiative), and developments in the dairy and education sectors in Jaipur are commendable. He warned about the health hazards like cancer due to the use of chemicals in farming and urged a shift toward natural farming.
Education and Culture
The Governor stressed the effective implementation of the New Education Policy, focusing on enhancing children’s intellectual abilities and practical learning methods, especially at the primary and upper primary levels. He criticized the colonial education model introduced by Lord Macaulay for harming India's moral and cultural values and called for reconnecting children with India’s rich ancient knowledge systems.
Welfare Implementation and Grassroots Development
Governor Bagde insisted that development schemes should not remain limited to data but be visibly beneficial to farmers, the poor, and underprivileged sections. He recommended improving the standard of living of livestock rearers through dairy collection systems and expanding milk societies in villages. He also encouraged opening "Nandishalas" (bull shelters) along with cow shelters.
Praises for Local Initiatives
He praised Jaipur’s efforts in developing kabaddi grounds under the Panch Gaurav initiative.
Appreciated the construction of gravel roads and naming pillars after talented village daughters under the Rasta Khol Abhiyan.
Review of Key Schemes
PM Awas Yojana: 12,789 houses built in Jaipur district until 2023–24.
Emphasis on benefiting SC/ST and backward communities.
Reviewed schemes like Adarsh Gram Yojana, Swamitva Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, biogas plant setups, and rural sanitation efforts.
Urged for public awareness on cleanliness as a personal responsibility, beyond policy mandates.
Empowering Women and Livelihoods
He sought a detailed review of the National Rural Livelihood Mission, focusing on calculating individual benefits for women and encouraging entrepreneurship.
Called for the promotion of local use of women’s products, maintaining financial records, and supporting women's groups based on performance.
Water, Energy, and Environment
Directed for universal access under Jal Jeevan Mission, ensuring no household remains without drinking water.
Urged for groundwater conservation under the Atal Bhujal Yojana.
Promoted PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, encouraging solar energy usage.
“No Accident Month” Campaign
The Governor instructed the district to observe a month as "No Accident Month", urging efforts to spread awareness about road safety, prevent drunk driving, speeding, and drowsy driving.
District Collector Shri Jitendra Kumar Soni supported this, announcing identification of 100 roads and 88 accident-prone black spots in Jaipur.
Agriculture and Soil Health
He emphasized the need to improve soil health, comparing soil illness to human sickness, and encouraged farmers to adopt Soil Health Cards.
Praised the construction of greenhouses in Bassi, noting that 40% of Rajasthan’s greenhouses are located in Jaipur.
Focus on Child Welfare and Street Children
The Governor urged proper implementation of the New Education Policy, with emphasis on mother-tongue instruction, sports, and hostel facilities.
Called for the use of MP/MLA funds for developing such facilities.
Stressed initiating drives for education of street children and helping talented low-income children through coaching and scholarships.
Economic Empowerment of the Poor
Under the PM SVANidhi Scheme, he called for encouraging street vendors and the economically weaker sections toward self-employment.
Emphasized skill development of youth to ensure their participation in the economy.
Governor’s Secretary Dr. Prithvi was also present. The meeting began with a detailed presentation by District Collector Shri Jitendra Kumar Soni on various development and welfare schemes implemented in the district.
