September 1, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, today. The summit marks the 25th anniversary of the SCO, which has ten member countries, including India, China and Russia.
Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda will inaugurate the two-week-long Swachhata Pakhwada-2026 today. The campaign will focus on raising awareness about eliminating single-use plastics and promoting cloth bags and reusable bottles. The Pakhwada will continue until September 15.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in an accident in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh. The President conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of those injured.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India is making every possible effort to provide assistance in affected areas of Nepal. He made the remarks while virtually inaugurating the Nepalganj Road-Nanpara-Bahraich rail section.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also warned people about financial fraud linked to fake pornography apps, urging citizens to remain cautious of such online scams.
