In a major infrastructure push, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has approved projects worth ₹286 crore aimed at improving traffic flow, drainage systems, and urban mobility across Jaipur. The decisions were taken during a Public Works Committee (PWC) meeting chaired by JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan.
Key Projects & Impact:
1. Sirsi Road Widening (₹48.76 crore)
The stretch from C-Zone Bypass to Sirsi Mod will be widened and strengthened, providing major relief from congestion for residents of Vaishali Nagar and nearby colonies.
2. Sikar Road U-Turn Development (₹9.54 crore)
An at-grade U-turn between Chomu Pulia and Road No. 14 will streamline traffic on one of the city’s busiest corridors and improve road safety.
3. Jyoti Nagar–Imli Phatak Junction Upgrade (₹5.96 crore)
Improvements at this high-traffic junction on Sahkar Marg—known for VIP movement—will reduce bottlenecks and improve traffic circulation.
Major Sewerage Investment:
A significant focus has been placed on sanitation and drainage:
- ₹95.16 crore approved for lateral sewer lines from Zones 5 and 6 to STP Nevta
- ₹42 crore sanctioned for sewer connectivity from Bhankrota to STP
These upgrades are expected to mitigate waterlogging and sanitation issues in large parts of western Jaipur.
