Nifty came under pressure today with major FMCG names leading the decline. Several mid and smallcap stocks hit lower circuits and fresh 52-week lows. Selective buying helped a few stocks hit new 52-week highs even as overall smallcap momentum remained mixed.
Nifty Weakness HINDUNILVR dropped -2.27% to ₹2104.7, leading Nifty losers. TATACONSUM fell -1.97% to ₹1155.2, NTPC declined -1.72% to ₹380.25, M&M slipped -1.7%, and KOTAKBANK closed -1.68% lower.
Lower Circuit & 52W Lows JSLL plunged -19.99% to ₹492.00 hitting lower circuit and 52W low. RBMINFRA fell -20.00% to ₹292.45 and AMBAAUTO crashed -19.99% to ₹78.45, also making a new 52W low. Multiple stocks including GVPIL, SCHNEIDER, and AXISCADES hit 5% lower circuits.
Selective Strength & 52W Highs GLOBALPET gained 4.97% to ₹164.75 near upper band. ROLLT rose 4.81% to ₹1.96. Several stocks hit new 52-week highs including CPPLUS, RUBICON, SPORTKING, PASUPTAC, HITECHCORP, COCKERILL, ANTELOPUS, and ARVIND. AURIGROW recorded the highest volume at 167.11 lakh shares.
