Nifty came under selling pressure led by major FMCG and consumption stocks. Several mid and smallcap names hit lower circuits and made new 52-week lows. However, selective buying was seen in a few smallcap stocks trading near upper bands.
Nifty Weakness HINDUNILVR fell -2.27% to ₹2104.7, leading Nifty losers. TATACONSUM declined -1.97%, NTPC dropped -1.72%, M&M slipped -1.7%, and KOTAKBANK closed -1.68% lower.
Lower Circuit & 52W Lows JSLL plunged -19.99% to ₹492.00 hitting lower circuit and 52W low. AMBAAUTO crashed -19.99% to ₹78.45 also making a new 52W low. RBMINFRA fell -20.00% to ₹292.45 on lower circuit. Other names like GVPIL, SCHNEIDER, and AXISCADES hit 5% lower circuits.
Selective Smallcap Strength GLOBALPET gained 4.97% to ₹164.75 near upper band. ROLLT rose 4.81% to ₹1.96. AURIGROW saw massive volume of 167.11 lakh shares.
