A shocking video from Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district has gone viral on social media, showing a woman being brutally assaulted in a public marketplace. The accused has been identified as Santosh Pathak, a YouTuber. The incident reportedly occurred following a dispute over a roadside hut (gumti).
According to reports, the woman earns her livelihood by running a small hut. She alleged that Santosh Pathak had earlier arranged for her hut to be removed. Despite filing a complaint at the police station, no action was taken against him at that time.
Woman Beaten With Stick, Thrown to the Ground
On Sunday morning, the dispute escalated again when both parties came face to face. During the argument, the woman allegedly attempted to hit Santosh with a slipper. In response, Santosh attacked her with a stick, dragged her by the hair, and threw her to the ground. The viral video shows the woman shouting while the accused continues to assault her.
Several people were present at the scene, but instead of intervening, most were seen recording videos on their mobile phones. No one stepped forward to stop the violence until one person finally intervened and restrained the accused.

The incident has now taken a political turn. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari shared the video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), alleging that the accused is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, these claims have not been officially confirmed so far.

Police have taken cognizance of the viral video and registered a case against the accused. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken as per the law.
