Bhopal, April 30. A two-day seminar on the effective implementation of the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act concluded at the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy, Bhauri. The programme, held on April 28–29, focused on strengthening child protection mechanisms and enhancing legal enforcement capabilities.
Organised under the direction of Director/Additional Director General of Police Mohd. Shahid Absar and guided by Deputy Director Dr. Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, the seminar centered on specialized training modules, along with the roles of Special Juvenile Police Units (SJPU), Juvenile Justice Committees (JJC), and Child Welfare Committees (CWC).
Key sessions were led by domain experts including DSP Neeraj Namdev, Prof. Paikar Nasir from the National Judicial Academy, JJ Board member Dr. Kripa Shankar Chaubey, ADPO Dr. Manisha Patel, and ADPO Suchitra Verma. The discussions covered legal procedures, institutional coordination, and best practices for safeguarding child rights.
Police personnel from various units across Madhya Pradesh actively participated, gaining practical insights into handling child protection cases and ensuring effective implementation of the JJ and POCSO Acts.
