Nawada, Bihar: In a major anti-corruption action, the Vigilance Investigation Bureau arrested Sub-Inspector Pramod Kumar Patel of Akbarpur police station for accepting a ₹25,000 bribe.
The arrest occurred near the station gate while Patel was allegedly taking the money in exchange for manipulating a case diary and delaying the arrest of accused individuals. The operation followed a complaint by Vikas Kumar from Warisliganj, which the bureau verified before setting up a sting.
This marks the first trap-based arrest of 2026, causing a stir in the police department. Patel is now scheduled to be produced before the Special Vigilance Court in Patna.
