Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) opened a new Evaluation Hall at the Office of the Controller of Examinations with the objective to speed up the result declaration process, both for the university exams and entrances. The new Evaluation Hall was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, and Registrar, JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi in the presence of the Controller of Examinations (CoE), JMI, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, and Deputy Controller of Examinations, JMI, Prof. Ahteshamul Haque. It is worth noting that during the ongoing admissions cycle, JMI is far ahead of other institutions declaring more than 80% entrance results already.
The newly inaugurated multi-purpose hall situated on the second floor of the COE office building is designed to house observers and evaluators. The hall is fully air-conditioned and equipped with storage racks and extensive seating arrangements to provide a dedicated, professional, and optimal space for all admission evaluation and its related activities under one roof.
Expressing his happiness and satisfaction at the high speed with which the examination results were released, and applauding the quick turnaround time in opening a grand facility for evaluation purposes, Prof. Asif said, "I am grateful to the COE, Deputy COE, and the highly efficient administrative and office staff in the CoE office whose hard work for the last 3 months, since the announcement of the 2025 admissions, has made this possible." Prof. Asif added, "I want to infuse an environment of positivity, integrity, and happiness in the JMI ecosystem." Stating that as a member of the NEP drafting committee, he realized, "Timely disbursement of salaries and promotions at the right time when due, were the twin factors that were central to keeping the university faculty and staff members motivated so as to maximize their potential. This is the philosophy with which my administration has been working. The results are for all to see." he added.
Prof. Rizvi said, "Our motto should be 'One Jamia, One family,' which will be realized in letter and spirit only if our teaching and non-teaching staff join hands to deliver the very best for the university so that very soon JMI can move further up in its NIRF ranking from the 3rd to the 2nd position." Prof. Rizvi expressed his conviction that, "With the newly opened hall, the best of facilities are now available to our evaluators so that the entire exam evaluation process can be further speeded up and streamlined." Prof. Rizvi congratulated Prof. Sharma, Prof. Haque, and the entire JMI fraternity on the high level of transparency and fairness that were maintained in this admissions cycle, saying, "It is remarkable that the university conducted the entire multi-city entrance exam process by itself using its in-house facility and staff and without the involvement of any third party. Not only is this a huge achievement for JMI, but it is also unprecedented." Prof. Rizvi reiterated. He lauded the hard work done by the CoE, Deputy CoE, Deans, HoDs, Directors, faculty members and the non teaching staff as well as staff of the CoE office.
Prof. Sharma, Controller of Examinations lauded the leadership role of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar under which the University was witnessing all-round growth in all its facets. Prof. Sharma then gave a detailed outline of the ongoing work in the two sections related to the admissions and examination at the office of the CoE. He thanked the JMI fraternity, particularly the faculty members, for timely evaluation of answer sheets and submission of marks, making the early declaration of the results a reality.
In his welcome speech, Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, Deputy Controller of Examinations, informed the gathering that the establishment and renovation of the evaluation hall was the idea of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, JMI, and it had come to fruition in record time due to their unwavering support and commitment. Prof. Haque also informed that the admission process for the session 2025-26 is in an advanced stage and is far ahead of other universities in the country.
Prior to the inauguration, the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, CoE and Deputy CoE planted trees in the CoE office premises. The anchoring of the program was done by Dr. Sunil. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Khalid Raza.
