The Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP) held an online induction program for female engineering students participating in its “Women Internship Program”, under the chairmanship of Project Director Mr. Piyush Samariya. Over 200 interns from more than 15 project cities, including Jaipur, joined the session via video conferencing.

Mr. Samariya called the initiative a landmark step, with a unique status under ADB-funded projects.
The program offers female engineering students a hands-on experience in urban infrastructure projects aligned with national and international technical standards.
He encouraged interns to make full use of the opportunity by asking questions and staying curious.
Leadership Perspectives:
Dr. Hemant Kumar Sharma, Additional Project Director-II, termed the internship a flagship initiative, appreciated by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for increasing female participation in the urban sector.
Financial Advisor Ms. Jigyasa Gaur praised the internship as a strong step towards women empowerment, crediting the CAP team for its successful execution.
Project Officer Mr. Shiv Ratan Pareek thanked all participants and urged interns to engage with dedication and sincerity.

Background:
This Women Internship Program is part of RUIDP Phase IV’s Gender Action Plan, aimed at offering internships to 1,000 female students pursuing engineering or project-related fields. On successful completion, interns receive a stipend of ₹24,000 along with a completion certificate.
