Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the Panchayat and Rural Development Department plays a pivotal role in generating rural employment, improving sanitation, and connecting villages to the mainstream of development through road infrastructure. These initiatives, he emphasized, make a significant contribution to enhancing the living standards of common citizens.
Addressing a review meeting at the Vidhan Sabha committee hall, Dr. Yadav stated that the department’s schemes and programs will be central to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India” by 2047. He directed officials to make greater use of modern information technology tools for implementation and monitoring.
Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State Radha Singh, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi, and departmental officials were present. The meeting featured a presentation on the achievements and innovations of the past two years across major programs including MGNREGA, Panchayati Raj, PM Awas (Rural), Swachh Bharat Mission, State Rural Livelihood Mission, PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana, PM Poshan Shakti Nirman, MP Rural Road Development Authority, and the Rural Mechanical Service.
Key Directions from the Chief Minister
Integrate the efforts of agriculture, cooperatives, fisheries, and other village-related departments to ensure holistic village development.
Accelerate the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana.
Prepare development plans to strengthen semi-urban and large gram panchayats.
Ensure coordinated development of roads and infrastructure in village panchayats located between urban local bodies.

Approval of 2,472 Gram Seva Sadan (Panchayat buildings) at a cost of ₹922.20 crore.
Approval of 106 Atal Good Governance Buildings (Janpad Panchayat) worth ₹557 crore.
Approval of 5 Atal District Good Governance Buildings costing ₹50 crore.
Approval for the construction of 3,560 community buildings with an investment of ₹855 crore.
Sanction of ₹7.5 crore for fencing works at 231 Narmada Parikrama Path shelters and at the origin points of 89 rivers to support plantation activities.
