Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal chaired a key meeting on October 29, 2025, at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, with representatives from Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and industry associations to discuss ways to strengthen India’s export ecosystem.
The meeting saw participation from senior officials of the Department of Commerce, Department of Revenue, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), DGFT, various EPCs, and leading industry bodies. During the session, the Department of Commerce and DGFT made detailed presentations outlining the major reforms undertaken in the first half of FY 2025–26, upcoming trade facilitation measures, and an overview of India’s export performance during this period.
The discussion focused on addressing industry challenges, sharing insights on export diversification, and exploring strategies to further enhance India’s global trade footprint.
Representatives from sectors including FIEO, textiles, apparel, engineering, gems & jewellery, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, services, EPCH, telecom, leather, and industry bodies such as CII, FICCI, PHDCCI, SIAM, ASSOCHAM, and NASSCOM appreciated the Ministry’s efforts in fostering a business-friendly environment and expanding market access for Indian exporters.
Concluding the meeting, Shri Piyush Goyal reaffirmed the government’s commitment to simplifying trade processes and enhancing global market access for Indian exporters through sustained trade facilitation and policy reforms.
