The Rajasthan Government will present its Annual Budget for FY 2026–27 in the State Assembly on Wednesday, with Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari leading the presentation.
Recruitment for Drinking Water Operations
To strengthen water security and ensure efficient, time-bound water supply through IT-enabled systems, the government will implement an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for digital management and maintenance of water supply schemes. After appointing 1,050 personnel on a contractual cadre last year, the government has now announced recruitment for 3,000 additional posts to improve drinking water operations and pipeline maintenance.
Rajasthan State Water Policy Announced
The government will introduce a Rajasthan State Water Policy to improve drinking water access and ensure water availability for non-domestic industrial units. The policy will include provisions related to drinking water, raw water, and treated water. Additionally, mobile water testing laboratories will be deployed to strengthen water quality monitoring.
Government’s 10 Resolutions for Developed Rajasthan
Finance Minister Diya Kumari reiterated that the Bhajanlal Sharma government has adopted 10 key resolutions as pillars of development under its vision of a Developed Rajasthan.
Budget Size Jumps 41%
The Finance Minister announced that the total size of the Rajasthan Budget 2026–27 stands at ₹21,52,100 crore, marking a 41.39% increase compared to the previous year.
