Jaipur, September 21. Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas reviewed the progress of inter-state and intra-state transmission projects on Monday at the Government Secretariat with senior officials from Power Grid and the state's Energy Department. During the meeting, he directed that obstacles related to 'Right of Way' (RoW) for these projects in the state be resolved as quickly as possible so that the state could reap the benefits of green energy corridors. The Energy Department informed the meeting that instructions had already been issued to District Collectors and Superintendents of Police to provide appropriate cooperation in resolving these route-related hurdles.
The Chief Secretary noted that Rajasthan is the leading state in the country for solar energy generation. Consequently, the power infrastructure is being strengthened through inter-state and intra-state transmission projects to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted evacuation of electricity generated by renewable energy projects established in the state. He stated that the construction of modern, high-capacity transmission grids would not only bolster the state's energy security but also contribute to the nation's progress; therefore, the timely completion of these projects is essential.
The Chief Secretary also inquired about the progress of pending projects from Power Grid officials. Power Grid representatives assured him that they are working with full commitment to complete all transmission projects expeditiously with the state government's cooperation.
During the meeting, Power Grid requested the allocation of land for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) lines—which possess higher transmission capacity—to facilitate the transfer of electricity generated at solar parks to other states without tripping issues. In response, the Chief Secretary directed the concerned officials to take the necessary action in this regard.
Power Grid Chairman and Managing Director Shri V.R. Mohan Burra, Energy Secretary Ms. Aarti Dogra, Renewable Energy Corporation Chairman and Managing Director Shri Rohit Gupta, and other departmental officials were present at the meeting.
