Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a series of high-level meetings in New Delhi on Thursday, engaging with top Union ministers to accelerate the state’s growth in key sectors including urban development, energy, water resources, and skill enhancement.
During his visit, CM Sharma met Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil, and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship & Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary.
Strengthening Rajasthan’s Energy Infrastructure
In his meeting with Union Minister Manohar Lal, the Chief Minister discussed Rajasthan’s potential to contribute significantly to India’s solar energy goals. Talks focused on strengthening the power evacuation network to fully utilize the state’s vast renewable energy capacity.
Officials informed that in the interest of farmers, the tower base compensation rate has been increased up to 400% of the DLC rate, while corridor compensation has been fixed at 30% in rural areas, 45% in municipal areas, and 60% in municipal corporation areas.
It was also noted that AT&C losses of state power distribution companies (DISCOMs) are consistently declining — with Jaipur and Ajmer DISCOMs now below 15%. The RDSS scheme implementation pace has also improved.
CM Sharma expressed gratitude to the Central Government for its continued support in the energy sector and also discussed the approval of the DPR for Jaipur Metro Phase-2.
Key Discussions on Water Projects
In his meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, CM Sharma reviewed the progress of major water supply and conservation projects, including the Ferozepur Feeder Relining and Ramjal Setu Link Project. Both leaders discussed measures to strengthen Rajasthan’s water infrastructure.
The Union Minister also appreciated the success of the state’s ‘Karmabhoomi Se Matribhumi’ campaign.
Push for Skill Development in Rajasthan
Later, the Chief Minister met Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary to discuss transforming Rajasthan into a national skill development hub with Central Government support. The two leaders explored a strategic roadmap to boost entrepreneurship, vocational training, and job creation across the state.
