Jaipur, May 5:
The Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) has disbursed nearly ₹7,200 crore to hospitals and pharmacies over the past two years, as the state government intensifies efforts to streamline payments and strengthen healthcare delivery.
Under the initiative led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the payment mechanism is being made more transparent and consistent. In April alone, around ₹300 crore was released, followed by approximately ₹150 crore in May. Authorities said pending dues are being addressed in a phased manner.
Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar stated that the department is focused on ensuring timely and transparent payments to healthcare providers. Of the total disbursed amount, over ₹4,000 crore has gone to hospitals, while pharmacies have received more than ₹3,200 crore during the current government’s tenure.
The scheme has seen a sharp rise in expenditure over the years. Annual payouts increased from ₹364 crore in FY 2021–22 to ₹3,470 crore in FY 2024–25, reflecting expanded coverage and higher utilization. In FY 2025–26 alone, payments have already crossed ₹2,900 crore.
Despite earlier concerns over delays, most empanelled hospitals continue to provide treatment under the scheme. In April, around 4 lakh Transaction IDs (TIDs) were generated, indicating sustained patient activity. On May 4, hospitals generated approximately 14,000 TIDs, while pharmacies recorded nearly 15,000.
