Paddy procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) is progressing smoothly in Balodabazar–Bhatapara district, with 90 per cent of registered farmers having already sold their produce during the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26.
Under the supervision of District Collector Deepak Soni, procurement operations are being carried out across all 166 procurement centres in the district, where paddy purchase from the remaining farmers is still underway.
According to information received from the District Food Officer, the district administration has so far procured 742,443 metric tonnes of paddy from 150,867 farmers, against which a payment of ₹1,601 crore has been made directly to farmers’ accounts.
A total of 167,120 farmers had registered for paddy procurement in the district, of whom nearly 90 per cent have completed sales. Officials said 279,255 metric tonnes of paddy has already been lifted, accounting for 70.66 per cent of the issued delivery orders (DOs).
In addition, land surrender has been completed for 123,867 farmers, covering an area of around 7,105 hectares, as part of the verification and compliance process.
Paddy procurement at MSP began in the district on November 15, 2025, in line with state government directives. To ensure transparency, nodal officers have been appointed at each procurement centre, who submit weekly inspection reports. Joint enforcement teams are also maintaining strict vigilance against illegal paddy transactions.
