Raipur, March 25, 2026: Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has announced development projects worth over ₹6 crore for Nagar Panchayat Bodla, aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving civic amenities in the region.
At a public event held at a local hockey ground, Sharma performed the foundation stone laying (bhoomipujan) for multiple construction works and also inaugurated completed projects at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan. He stated that enhancing urban infrastructure, expanding sports facilities, and promoting community development remain key priorities of the government.
Highlighting a major civic upgrade, Sharma said a new drinking water system has been ensured for Bodla, where water from a dam will be treated through a filtration plant and supplied to households. He described the gravity-based system as efficient, sustainable, and a long-pending demand of residents.
The Deputy CM also addressed broader governance issues, noting progress in tackling Left-wing extremism in the Bastar region. He said that under the rehabilitation policy, former Naxals are returning to the mainstream, with many visiting the state assembly to understand democratic processes. According to him, more than 600 rehabilitated individuals have visited the विधानसभा, while over 2,500 have rejoined society through rehabilitation initiatives.
Sharma reiterated that the government is committed to inclusive development and ensuring that both urban and rural regions benefit from infrastructure growth and welfare initiatives.
