September 23, 2026: Cryptocurrency markets remained largely positive in the latest session, with Bitcoin trading at $86,466, up 0.32%, while Ether gained 0.21% to $2,758.31. Major altcoins also recorded strong weekly gains, with Cardano, Avalanche, XRP and Uniswap among the notable movers.
Bitcoin, Ether Extend Weekly Gains
Bitcoin has gained 13.55% over the past week and 9.57% over the month, although its YTD performance remains negative at 1.18%. Its market capitalisation stood at approximately $1.73 trillion.
Ether was at $2,758.31, up 0.21% in the latest session. ETH has risen 14.09% weekly and 11.19% monthly, while remaining down 7.04% YTD.
The broader recovery is consistent with recent market data showing Bitcoin moving above $85,000 amid stronger ETF inflows, institutional demand and renewed risk appetite.
Cardano, Avalanche and XRP Post Strong Weekly Gains
Cardano rose 0.49% to $0.25519 and has gained 30.23% over the past week and 15.26% over the month.
Avalanche was at $11.27, down 0.17% in the latest session, but remains one of the strongest weekly performers with a 50.93% gain. It is also up 49.63% over the month.
XRP gained 1.34% to $1.59213, taking its weekly advance to 22.63%.
Solana slipped 0.27% to $118.2169 but remains up 19.93% weekly and 19.86% monthly.
Uniswap Jumps 145% in a Month
Uniswap was the standout performer in the latest data. UNI gained 3.74% to $10.65, taking its weekly gain to 58.32% and monthly gain to a striking 145.81%.
Uniswap is also up 88.99% YTD and 34.25% year-on-year, with a market capitalisation of around $6.49 billion.
Polkadot gained 18.27% over the week and 33.97% over the month, while Cosmos rose 20.18% weekly and 20.49% monthly.
Major Cryptocurrencies Still Below Year-Earlier Levels
Despite the recent rally, several major cryptocurrencies remain significantly below their levels a year ago. Bitcoin is down 23.70% YoY, Ether 33.59%, Solana 44.17% and XRP 45.57%.
Among the listed assets, Cardano and Polkadot remain down nearly 69% YoY, while Avalanche is lower by 65.15%.
