Jaipur, April 22, 2026:
In response to rising temperatures and the likelihood of heatwave conditions, the Jaipur district administration has revised school timings for younger students across the district.
According to an official order issued by the District Collector and Magistrate, all government and private schools in Jaipur will operate from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM for students from pre-primary to Class 8, effective April 27, 2026, until the end of the academic session.
The decision has been taken based on weather forecasts indicating a significant increase in temperature and potential heatwave conditions. Authorities stated that the move aims to safeguard children from extreme heat exposure during peak daytime hours.
However, students of Classes 9 to 12, along with school staff and ongoing examinations, will continue as per the existing schedule, with no changes announced for them.
The order has been issued under provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, empowering the district administration to take preventive measures during adverse conditions.
Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against any institution failing to comply with the directive.
