Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized a Felicitation Programme on 11 December 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Nawab Masoor Ali Khan Pataudi Sports Complex, JMI, to honour the exceptional achievements of its staff and students in various national and international sporting events.
The programme celebrated the JMI Staff Cricket Team, champions of the VC Cup Cricket Tournament–2025; Mr. Munna Khalid (Ph.D. Scholar), Bronze Medallist at the Indonesia Para-Badminton International 2025 (Level–1); Silver Medallists of the Khelo India University Games–2025 (Shooting – Shotgun); Mr. Mo Luckman Ali, JMI Staff Wrestling Player and 5th Rank holder at the Asian Wrestling Championship; Senior U.P. State Wrestling Bronze Medallist; and the JMI North Zone Cricket Team 2025–26 (Runners-up).
The event was graced by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, JMI, and Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mazhar Asif felicitated the achievers for their outstanding performances and commended their hard work, teamwork, and dedication. He remarked that these remarkable sporting successes reflect the spirit of excellence at Jamia Millia Islamia and extended his warm congratulations to all awardees.
Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi congratulated the sportspersons for bringing laurels to the University and appreciated the collective efforts of the Director, Games & Sports, staff members, coaches, and team managers. He assured full administrative support to University sportspersons and wished them continued success in future tournaments.
Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Honorary Director (Games & Sports), JMI, lauded the determination and discipline of the players and emphasized the importance of team spirit and selfless commitment. He expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Chairman and Members of the Sports Committee, and the staff of the Games & Sports Department for their unwavering support.
