MUMBAI, INDIA – November 28, 2025 – Principal photography for Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, concluded Thursday after a marathon 142-day schedule across Mumbai, Punjab, and London.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film chronicles a Hindu family’s struggle during the violent Partition, with Deol playing a resilient patriarch and Rai as his strong-willed wife.
Preity Zinta returns to the big screen after seven years in a crucial supporting role. The period drama has been mounted on a reported budget of Rs 180 crore, making it one of the costliest historical films in Hindi cinema.
