National, February 4, 2023: Max Healthcare Institute has announced a major expansion of its Max Super Speciality Hospital Mohali, strengthening tertiary healthcare infrastructure in North India.
The company has commenced construction of a new 170-bed facility, following a ground-breaking ceremony held in Mohali. Upon completion by Q3 2024, the hospital’s total capacity will increase from 231 to 400 beds, making it one of the largest private hospitals in the Tri-city region (Chandigarh–Mohali–Panchkula).
₹400 Crore Investment to Boost Healthcare and Employment
The expansion project involves an investment of approximately ₹400 crore and is expected to:
- Enhance access to advanced medical care in Punjab
- Serve patients from neighbouring regions including Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir
- Generate significant employment across clinical and non-clinical roles
Currently, the hospital employs around 1,000 healthcare professionals and staff.
Meeting Rising Demand for Tertiary Care
With over a decade of operations, the Mohali facility has been catering to a growing patient base, recording an average monthly OPD footfall exceeding 10,000 patients.
